July 9th, 2011

I have a hard time finding the words to describe our wedding day. I can tell you it was the best day of my life, but that doesn't even do it justice. It rained and a lot of things went wrong or were forgotten but I didn't care, it was our day. Everyone we wanted to be there, was there; my best friend Erin was able to fly out and that meant the world to me. I was so grateful to have my health and to be over morning sickness. My bishop agreed to do the ceremony, I was so happy about that; he did a beautiful job. One funny thing was I had forgotten my shoes in all the commotion so I told my friend Edith she needed to give me her shoes right off her feet! They were like 5 inches high with pins for heels.... which are fine on the side walk, but once I got onto the grass, not so much! The heels sunk right in and I almost fell flat on my face. But I just kept my eye on the prize and kept walking!!! Mark Schumacher, the love of my life; was waiting at the end of the isle. That was the last time i'd have to walk without him by my side. He is my best friend in the whole world and starting my life with him is the best thing I've ever done.
Engagements and Bridals
ugh between Mark and me it's really hard to get one serious photo

Thanks Kate Torman for doing a great job on my pics!!!

With the baby coming we decided to move up our plans for the wedding to July 9th, 2011, we had to much to do!!!!
Friday May 13th- We are having a baby!!!
It started out as a regular Friday, went out to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory; I was so excited because I had been feeling exceptionally hungry the past few weeks! By the end of the night we were sitting on my couch with 3 positive pregnancy tests. We couldn't believe it, we were going to be parents! I truly believe that things happen for a reason, we were meant to have a baby.
We are engaged!!!

We were so excited and most importantly so in love and that's all that mattered. Marriage is such a rare occurrence these days, it's really sad. I'm so grateful to have met a man who still believes in marriage and respects it as much as I do. We decided to get married in September and I couldn't wait to start planning.

The view from where he purposed

had to take a pic of my ring and send it to all the girls, you know.
Moving downtown was nice because I was even closer to Mark! He had moved to a house with some roommates up by the University of Utah. We were still spending all the time in the world together. Spring was flying by and Mark was getting closer to graduating. I felt like our relationship was getting pretty serious and I knew I wanted to marry him but I felt like he wasn't ready and wanted to wait until he was done with school. But on May 2, 2011 Mark showed up at my door, all dressed up; which never happens. He took me to the Metropolitan for lunch, i'd been wanting to go forever; it was so good. Then we went to redbutte gardens, another place i'd never been. It's up by the U and is absolutely beautiful. We went for a hike and just talked for a few hours; I wasn't suspecting a thing. I didn't even know he'd have the whole night planned as well. I had told my Dad and brothers I'd cut their hair so I told Mark I had to do that around 5 so he just came with me. After that, yet another surprise; Mark took me to the Melting Pot. Which is my Favorite restaurant ever!!! I was so amazed by the whole day, Mark has always treated me amazing and is so creative when it comes to gifts and what not but I was starting to get suspicious... I asked what was with the whole day and he just replied that he wanted me to know how much he loved me and that he wanted to take care of me the rest of my life. We finished dinner and there was a movie I wanted to see but Mark was insistent that we go for a walk in the park. I finally agreed and he took me up to the avenues, there is a park with a really big hill and a cute little bench at the top that overlooks the whole city. We sat there for a while talking like we normally do, it was so romantic; I finally said we should probably get going it was so late... mark said "wait, just one more thing" then got down on one knee and purposed. It was SO perfect. I couldn't believe I was going to be Mrs. Mark Schumacher. I called my Mom the second we got in the car and she was thrilled. I couldn't wait to start the next chapter of our lives together forever!
